Post to the Helpline

Try to keep conversation to older computers. Earlier Pentiums are fine. Older Macs are fine. But, please, no gigahertz PIII or iMac questions. (Comments and suggestions about the Helpline are also welcome, or just e-mail me at tcarlson@ncsc.dni.us!
If you have things to sell, I would prefer you use eBay for the actual auction and just post a notification of it here. eBay has protection measures built into it to make your auctions safer. The Helpline does not.
The Helpline provides no warrantee that any information posted here is reliable or correct. Any actions you take as a result of something you've read here, you take at your sole risk.
Don't use HTML in your postings. The Helpline will only convert them to codes and it'll look stupid. Carriage returns are automatically converted to HTML line breaks.
Be aware that posting your e-mail address may leads to others sending you spam. I'm sorry, but that's the nature of the web. I wish spammers would get real lives.
Finally, and most importantly, be nice! There's no reason to ever be rude here. Thankfully, that's not usually a problem, coz the Helpline users are simply the best!
