VIC 20

Owner: K. Slettemoen
Location: St. Anthony, MN
My very first computer! 5K RAM. (3.5K available for BASIC programs.) I ran out of memory writing my very first program on it. Only 22 characters per screen line. Initially sold for around $300! Both the VIC-20 and the C64 used the same peripherals, so once you outgrew the VIC-20, it was a natural upgrade to the C64. My father-in-law used to make PROM copies of VIC cartridge games. Then he rigged up a ZIF socket that then plugged into the cartridge slot. By putting different PROMs into the socket, your could play different cartridge games. How many people do you know that could pirate a cartridge?
